Tutorial – Creating a Shademap in CS4 Extended
This is a simple tutorial on making a basic shademap for a sculpt in CS4 Extended.
Open your object in CS4. Click on the texture layer, the layer called Diffuse in this image…
You should have another file open now starting with _PS_3D*.psd, from the 3D menu at the top of the screen select, Create UV Overlay, then select, Shaded.
PS will create a new layer with the Shaded UV Map.
That’s it. Depending on the sculpt and the type of edges it has you might have to edit the file and clean it up, but this is the basic method.
